I had the pleasure of getting to know Kristina as she was beginning her DFMC Boston Marathon journey while having just completed a major milestone in her BRCA journey, just weeks after her hysterectomy. It was apparent to me immediately that Kristina was a special human – which I remember saying to her during that welcome call. Initially we asked Kristina to speak and share her “why” on a team call. She clearly had a knack and passion when talking about her story and we knew people would want more. Kristina was asked to be the speaker at our DFMC Pasta Party – and shared her story of her BRCA journey. To say Kristina captivated the room would be an understatement – her story was clear, powerful, and motivational to every person in that room - which was evident from the standing ovation she received from all 1,000+ attendees. Her presence and ability to convey her story in a way that connected with everyone despite the plethora of different journeys was incredible and inspired all to be the driver in their lives.
